Sri Lanka vs New Zealand 2nd ODI Preview – 4th Nov

It’s the 2nd ODI at the Pallekele and things don’t look too bright for this match either with rain being persistent. The weather forecast is scattered showers and this could be a very disappointing tour if the rain continues as New Zealand have already pulled the plug on the Test Series. If there is any chance of a game you’d say the conditions would help the fast bowlers so Lasith Malinga would have a great opportunity of taking a few wickets in favorable conditions. Rob Nicol will be crucial in holding out Malinga since the New Zealand batsman can all be dismissed very quickly if things go wrong.

Match Information :
November 4, Pallekele
Starting Time: 1430 Local Time (0900 GMT Time)
Key Contest:
Rob Nicol vs Lasith Malinga
Rob Nicol has had some success in the 50 over format for New Zealand having scored already 2 hundreds in 14 innings. The last ODI for Sri Lanka was played in August so it may take some time for Malinga to adapt from the T20 format to the 50 over format but he looks in great nick after a form slump for a period. Nicol has played Sri Lanka recently, in the T20 World cup where he almost helped upset Sri Lanka with the game going to a Super Over but he contributed 58 runs off 40 balls so he knows how Malinga can bowl at his bad times.
