DD are surely doing something wrong to be losing continously. So if you look at the last few games their batting seems to be the major concern. There are many changes suggested in this page. However I feel that in the last game they weren't playing to win. Some didn't believe it was possible. Jeevan Mendis' run-out was a classic example. He was pushing for two since the runrate was 12 and Yadav was content with a single. Mahela should not pick players id he is not planning to utilise them. Mendis is more than a part time bowler and was still not utilised. Hower his stats show that he was the best spinner in the team the other day. I feel that DD should believe that they still can make it to the playoffs and play 5 bowlers (Yadav, Nadeem, Pathan, Mendis and Morkel) and fill the rest with good batsman.

Rajasthan Royals Team Squad For IPL 2013

Teams Squad and Players List of Rajasthan Royals in Pepsi IPL 2013 is announced. There are many people that will frown upon the IPL matches especially official offices in governments who think that this destroy the sports and sportsmen since they end up playing too much league matches and less international cricket. This is true in the sense that a lot of players that opt for such games, end up playing too much and exhausting their muscles. However, there are a lot of good points in this as well because of these leagues, th
e teams get to know each other as persons and not only players. Another good thing about these leagues is that they give flavors to cricketers of different pitches around the world. IPL is a great league in the sense.

The team to talk about in this article is the Rajasthan Royals. The home ground of the team is Jaipur and the current captain is Rahul Dravid who has served as a captain, as an opener and as a great batsman in official Indian cricket team with centuries to prove his mettle. The team is owned by Manoj Badale along with investors such as Ryan Tkalcevic, Lachlan Murdoch, Sir. Aditya S Chellaram and Suresh Chellaram. The team has been banned by the BCCI because it was said that under the leadership of Shane Warne, they did a lot of violations of BCCI rules. However, they won the case against them and were instantiated under Dravid’s leadership. The mascot of team is a lion.
Shane Warne was initially selected to be the captain of the team. He is an amazing bowler with the experience of the old players but he ended up being accused of the violations. Although in 2008, he made a great contribution and was appreciated by the other teams as a captain with his head together. He made the team won their matches and made a mark on the IPL league though initially they were predicted to be a very weak team. The Rajastan Royals were the winner of the IPL first league and were praised and awarded monetary prizes along with medals separately for each team player. The team success was appreciated and lot of advertisers and investors showed their interest in the team.
The new season 2013 is supposed to bring in a lot of surprise especially from the Rajastan Royals team. They could not play well in 2009 because a few of the good team members had to leave for the season for their own purposes so the team could not play well in the game. The same path was followed 2010 to 2012. However under the leadership of the Rahul Dravid, the team is set to make a comeback this season. Shane Warne is co-captain. It is being hoped that they will become a strong team again under the leadership and the as Shane Warne has proved before, they are a great team to be and to loo forward to this season matches.
Rajastan Royalsare a great team as they have proved to be so in 2008. Now they added back the good players so it is looking good for them so far.The team is owned by major stakeholders who are placing a lot of trust in the teams. However, what they do is up to them. So, let us watch and wait and see if they can make a comeback this season.

Kolkata Knight Riders vs Delhi Daredevils Highlights – IPL 2013

The news that has reached newsrooms of all leading dailies and magazines and television channels is that KKR jerseys are simply flying off the shelves and retailers are lamenting why they did not have a larger stock. This is just to get an idea of the public hysteria that the first match of IPL 2013 has generated.
The city of Kolkata is literally shivering with expectation even though there is palpable tension in the city due to the death of a student leader from the main opposition party of the state. Had it been any other day, people would have remained cautious before leaving their homes but today nothing like that will cross the minds of cricket crazy Kolkatans.

Kolkata Knight Riders vs Delhi Daredevils Highlights

This is the first match of 2013 IPL and the team from their own city is taking the field as last year’s champions; what can be more glorious than that for an average Kolkatan? All those could afford the sky high prices of tickets are already there at the stadium soaking in the atmosphere of the venue and all those could not are already in a do or die battle for the TV remote in their houses.
Dare Devils is not in a very happy position with their team. Their batting lynchpin, the legendary Virendar Sehwag is down with a mystery back spasm and will in all likelihood not take the field tonight. Jessy Ryder, the newly acquired $300,000 batting sensation is struggling with non-cricketing injury at a hospital in his native New Zealand and will not appear in this season at all.
Kevin Pietersen, the legendary destroyer with the cricket bat is not fit and will also not play for his team this season. Albie Morkel, winner of last year’s purple cap, will also not be there in the tournament opener. So, no matter what Daredevil’s coach Eric Simons utters, he is simply unable to mask his anxiety and helplessness at the prevailing situation.
But, all said and done, Jayawardene, captain of Delhi Daredevils, and his firebrand team of David Warner, Manprit Juneja and the one and only Morne Morkel will sure turn on the screws for Kolkata Knight Riders. They will give their last ounce of energy on the field to wrest glory from last year’s champions. They might also feel motivated and enthused from the fact that they had actually defeated Kolkata Knight Riders during the league phase of last year’s tournament.
But last year was twelve months ago and things were so very different during that season. Sehwag was in pristine form slamming five half centuries on the trot and managed to maintain an astounding strike rate of more than 160. It is of course another matter that the team could not maintain that tempo beyond semi-final stage but one simply cannot forget the heavenly music that Sehwag’s rampaging blade created last season.
Kolkata Knight Riders is also not free from their injury niggles either, Captain Gautam Gambhir has just recovered from a bout of jaundice that prevented his fortuitous return to test team just about a fortnight ago.
Brendon McCullum is also nursing a hamstring injury and to make matters worse, Shakib Al Hasan, a star player from Bangladesh, has not yet been able to make his way to India from faraway Zimbabwe where Bangladesh national cricket team had been touring recently.
So, as spectators all that one can do is to hold their breath and wait for the drama to unfold.

Mumbai Indians beat Chennai Super Kings by 9 runs

MIDefending a 149-run target, Mumbai Indians beat the Chennai Super Kings by 9 runs in their IPL match at Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Saturday.
Mumbai were defending a low total but Munaf Patel stopped a strong Chennai batting line-up with 3/29 as the visitors notched up a nine-run win.
Chennai Super Kings lost their top order cheaply. The Super Kings suffered an early blow when Munaf Patel scalped Vijay (5), who while attempting a leg
glance, missed the ball completely and was bowled.
Then, Mitchell Johnson got the all-important wicket of Suresh Raina (10) when the southpaw was caught at point by Mumbai Indians skipper Ricky Ponting.
Soon after, Harbhajan Singh joined the party when his slower delivery found the better of Michael Hussey’s stumps, thereby ending the Australian’s 23-ball 20 knock.
Left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha then picked up the wickets of Dwayne Bravo (10) and Subramaniam Badrinath (16) in quick succession to rattle the Chennai run chase.
Bravo, who had a decent time with the ball for Chennai, knicked a flighted delivery that was caught by wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik.
Badrinath, on the other hand, was caught plumb by Ojha after the Chennai batsman put up a fighting effort to compensate the Super Kings’ early wickets falling fiasco.
Ravindra Jadeja was next in line to be dismissed when Munaf got the southpaw to get a mean inside edge that ended up on his stumps. Jadeja (16) put up an important 31-run partnership with skipper MS Dhoni for the sixth wicket.
Earlier, Kieron Pollard (57) hit a timely unbeaten half-century to lead Mumbai Indians to a respectable 148 for six.
Mumbai were struggling at 59 for four in the ninth over when Pollard came to the crease and the West Indian bailed his side out of troubled waters with his 38-ball knock.
Pollard’s innings was studded with nine boundaries including five sixes and he single-handedly brought his side back in the match even as Karthik contributed 37 runs.
Mumbai scored 52 runs in the last five overs as Pollard and Harbhajan Singh shared an unbeaten 65-run stand for the seventh wicket. Harbhajan scored a run-a-ball 21.
Dwayne Bravo (2/44) scalped two batsman while four other Chennai bowlers took a wicket each.
Mumbai lost both the openers inside the first 20 balls with Sachin Tendulkar getting a first ball duck in the fifth ball of the first over and skipper Ricky Ponting becoming victim of IPL debutant Ankit Rajpoot.
In came Pollard and he smashed Bravo to two consecutive boundaries. Despite losing wickets intermittently, Mumbai were managing a decent run-rate of seven.
Brief scores
Mumbai Indians
148 for 6 (Pollard 57*, Karthik 37, Bravo 2-44)
Chennai Super Kings 139 for 9 (Dhoni 51, Patel 3-29, Ojha 2-16, Harbhajan Singh 2-31)

IPL are popular for a variety of reasons. The fan following exceeds to many levels and this happens to be the one cricket event where players from multitude teams are together making one powerful team irrespective of where they hail from. Then there are always moments of sheer vivacity when the following seems to combust when there are people with the likes of SRK, Preety Zinta, Priyanka Chopra among the many worth waiting for. The sponsors are high and so are the forecasts. Among these, the Mumbai Indians are making a lot to the talk of town.
The Mumbai Indians has proved to be the most consistent and active of the teams since the last three tournaments. On the other side, they have to yet be the winners in Indian Premiere League. But nevertheless, the world knows them to be the saviours of Champions League T20. They also happen to be pretty strong on the domestic front comparative to CSK. This time, the team has got a new leader and mentor in the name of Anil Kumble who needs no introduction as far as his abilities are concerned.
While the auction was in progress it was also being predicted that Rohit Sharma might be chosen as the captain. There was also speculation on the removal of foreign recruits with the likes of Thissara Perera, Dwayne Smith, Davy Jacobs and Clint McKay. This means that this time we would see a lot of fresh talent when it comes to the international category. Since a new captain is being sought there are some speculations that George Bailey may be that one man.
Along all this, there are also attempts to find someone who could match up to the skills of Sachin Tendulkar. This is all being done in attempts to find good partnership in the matches to come. Comparing it to the Bangladesh Premier League, Paul Stirling has proved himself to be a strong option along with the likes of Tamim Iqbal and Aaron Finch. With the amount of $1.8 million looming out there they might go for some of the big shots in the player’s league.

At one time it was not even recognized but now it is so much so that it has become commercialized worldwide. The international matches take place off and on and a world cup series take place every four years or so. It is amazing to note that even the private companies propagate private cricket leagues. One such league is the IPL cricket league in
India. It conducts matches from time to time. This way the cricket fans can watch matches the whole year apart from the international cricket matches. The league has a lot of teams that are set against each other. The significant thing to note is that the teams contain star international players.

One such team to talk about is the Pune Warriors India. The team is relatively a new team that was added into the IPL as a franchise in 2011 season of play. The home ground of the team is the recently constructed Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium in Pune. Former Indian cricketer Praveen Amre is the head coach of the team with former South African bowler Allan Donald serving as the bowling coach. The colors of the team are turquoise blue and silver and the log of the team is the spear wielding warrior riding a stallion. The team changed their name from the Sahara Pune Warriors to Pune Warriors India. One bad memory surrounding the team is their withdrawal in 2012 when suddenly Sahara decided to withdraw the team from the series, hours before they were about to play. But later they involved SauravGanguly to be a mediator and help the team in this time.
Yuvraj Singh was initially selected to be the captain of the team. He is an amazing batsman with the experience of the old players but had to work hard to prove himself to be a captain that will lead Pune Warriors Indiato success. However, after lots of defeats, he was dropped from the team altogether in 2012 season and had to suffer a setback. SauravGanguly was also taken on as a batsman during the 2012 season but it did not work out to be a good thing. However, for 2013 he has still been retained while Yuvraj Singh has been again retained as a captain.
Another interesting update for the 2013 is that Michael Clarke has been added in the team. He is a seasoned batsman, the likes of Ricky Pointing so he is a great addition to the team. However, with the captaincy of the Australian team might dampen his skills for the matches in IPL. The Pune Warriors India have made a strong team this and are working hard to be perfect in their practice. Let us see what surprises this season brings us.
Pune Warriors India can become a great team if they can organize themselves as till now none of the players have shown or given tremendous contribution especially in terms of two player partnership. Yuvraj Singh is great player but would he have been a great captain? To be honest he did not get enough time to prove himself during 2012. However, in 2013 he has been invited again as a captain. It is all a waiting game now. Let us watch and wait to see how the team performs in 2013 and will Sahara group be in loss for buying the team.

Hussey smashes 86 as CSK crush KXIP by 10 wickets

Hussey
Chasing 139 for victory after opting to field, Chennai rode on Hussey’s knock and Murali Vijay’s 50 off as many balls to thump the hosts at the PCA Stadium, and open their account in this edition of the cash-rich T20 league.

Opener Michael Hussey slammed a blistering 54-ball 86 as Chennai Super Kings produced an aggressive brand of cricket to roll over Kings XI Punjab by 10 wickets in their Pepsi Indian Premier League (IPL) match in Mohali on Wednesday night.
Chasing 139 for victory after opting to field, Chennai rode on Hussey’s knock and Murali Vijay’s 50 off as many balls to thump the hosts at the PCA Stadium, and open their account in this edition of the cash-rich T20 league.
The two-time former champions had lost their opening match to Mumbai Indians.
Steady to start with, Hussey upped the ante as the innings progressed, eventually leading his side to a commanding victory with 16 balls to spare.
There were a flurry of fours and sixes in the second half of the innings as Chennai raced to the target with ease.
While he was at his best towards the end, Hussey did not miss out on the opportunities to spank the loose balls for runs initially too.
Vijay was not at his fluent best but gave Hussey the support he needed at the other end. Unlike Punjab, Chennai knew they had the depth and experience in their batting, paving the way for the opening combo to milk runs instead of going hammer and tongs.
At the end of the end of the 10th over, Chennai were 65 for no loss, needing another 74 runs.
Punjab had their opportunities to dismiss the Chennai openers but Piyush Chawla dropped Hussey off his own bowling before Adam Gilchrist missed a stumping against Vijay in the eighth over.
Hussey capitalised on the life he got, cutting medium pacer Parvinder Awana for two fours through the point region as Chennai upped the scoring rate.
In the process, the two recorded the best first-wicket partnership for Chennai against Punjab in IPL, before taking it a notch higher to post the best partnership for any wicket on this ground.

Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka 3rd ODI Highlights 2013

Rain may have disturbed the continuity of the series, but is good for Bangladesh as it has given great opportunity to strengthen their position in the tour. Bangladeshis were not so impressive throughout their series against Sri Lanka, but now the team is working hard and practicing day and night to level the series.
The final match of one day series will be played on 28th March 2013 at Pallekelle on 14:30 local or 09:00 GMT or 14:00 PKT. The match will going to be a memorable and full of nail biting moments as both the teams fight to get success. If Sri Lanka wins this third game, they will be declared as the successful team in this tour and if Bangladesh wins, they will register new history in their cricket record.

Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka 3rd ODI Highlights 2013

After embarrassing defeat in test series, the team has lost hopes to be successful but the captain is still confident and believes over the abilities of his team. He knows that the team has ingredients to fight brilliantly against world’s strongest team. Duo of Nasir Hossain and Tamim Iqbal will be the biggest weapon for their success. Tamim has made a hundred and added 112 runs in team’s total. Nasir Hossain has added 73 runs and supported Tamim effectively. Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah and Mohammad Ashraful totally collapse to play well in the series but still, there are hopes that they will perform remarkably in the third one day game.
If Bangladesh wants to win this third ODI game, they will have to strengthen their bowling abilities. The pacers were smashed by the Sri Lankan batsmen due to which, their confidence level is lowered and have not performed so effectively in the first match.
For Sri Lanka, this victory is of paramount importance as the circumstances and conditions all are favorable for them. Although the team is surrounded by lots of controversies regarding IPL, they are just focusing over this series so that they can improve their international cricket reputation and can prove that they have got capabilities to win against any team of the world. The players will not have to underestimate Bangladeshi players because they are improving themselves and within a very short time, they will be able to give tough times to world’s top teams.
Mushfiqur Rahim has also admitted this fact that the boys have impressively improved themselves from the last two years due to which, he has believed that they can win third match. With the return of Mohammad Ashraful, team has got some confidence and motivated to become successful in the third one day game.
On the other hand, Sri Lankan players have got advantage of their homeland, home condition and crowd. Their batting as well as bowling is strong in comparison to Bangladesh. Dilshan has added great strengthen in the opening duo and performed remarkably in the first ODI match. He has made 113 runs with the strike rate of 104.62. Kumar Sangakara and Kaushal Perera also played their parts and helped Dilshan to lead the score to 238 runs. Perera has made 42 runs while, Sangakara has made 63 runs.
Bowling is the biggest strength for Sri Lanka, Lasith Malinga is also expected to play well in the third ODI like he has played in first one day match. Angelo Mathews is confident to win this third match as the players are equipped with all ingredients to shock the visitors.

Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 wickets at Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday. Virat Kohli led from the front with a breathtaking unbeaten 93 as Royal Challengers Bangalore made short work of a challenging target from Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Chasing a commendable target of 162, Kohli made a mockery of Sunrisers bowlers as he singlehandedly guided his team to victory smashing 11 four and four sixes off 47 balls as they knocked off the runs with 14 balls remaining.
It was a sweet revenge for RCB who had lost to Sunrisers in a ‘Super Over’ two days back.
Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 161 for six against Royal Challengers Bangalore 9th T20 Match played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore on 9th April 2013.
Cameron White and Thisara Perera’s slambang approach during the final five overs saw Sunrisers Hyderabad reach a competitive 161 for six against Royal Challengers Bangalore. White and Perera added 80 runs in only 7.2 overs to take the new IPl franchise to a comfortable position. While White clobbered three fours and three sixes in his 34-ball-52, Perera hit four huge sixes and a four in his knock of 40 which came off only 24 balls.
The last six overs of the innings produced a whopping 77 runs as Sunrisers had scored only 84 in their first 14 overs. The duo came together in the 11th over with the scoreboard reading 62 for three. They didn’t take risk initially but created a launchpad for a furious assault on the RCB bowlers.
The turning point was the 16th over of the innings bowled by Moises Henriques that yielded 18 runs. The two bowlers who came out unscathed from the Perera-White onslaught were veteran spinner Muttiah Muralitharan (1/23) and India discard Rudra Pratap Singh (3/27) who gave away only 50 runs in their 8 overs taking four wickets between them.
The bowler who went for maximum was Ranganath Vinay Kumar who gave away 43 in his four overs. Normally, considered as a safe bet in T20 matches, Vinay Kumar’s length deliveries were sent soaring into the stands by Perera.
The start wasn’t a good one for the home side as they lost Akshath Reddy (12) caught by Vinay Kumar at the edge of the circle at mid-off RP’s bowling. Parthiv Patel (20) was sent back by Murali who foxed the left-hander with a doosra.
Sangakkara scored 23 off 24 balls before he was caught by Virat Kohli at cover when he tried to get a move on as Perera and White joined hands for a splendid partnership.

Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Daredevils by 44 runs

Dinesh Karthik of Mumbai Indians
Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Daredevils by 44 runs in the 10th game of the Indian Premier League 2013 on Tuesday.

Batting first after winning the toss, the Mumbai Indians overcame the loss of two early wickets to post a superb 209/5 from their 20 overs.
Dinesh Karthik was the star of the show with 86 runs from 48 balls and was supported by Rohit Sharma who made 74.
In reply, Delhi did not start too well and despite Dave Warner’s 61 and a near-fifty from Manprit Juneja, the team fell way short of the target.
Ricky Ponting was the first batsman dismissed in the first over of the innings for a duck before Sachin Tendulkar was run-out next over for just one run. At 1/2, Mumbai Indians looked like they were in huge strife, but it was the third wicket stand between Karthik and Rohit that took the game away from Delhi.
Karthik was brutal from the very beginning and never gave up on his scoring rate, continuing from where he had left off in the previous couple of games. There were 14 boundaries in his innings that also included two sixes. His dismissal could have stalled the innings, but Rohit took over from there and with Ambati Rayadu (24) and Kieron Pollard (13) also contributing, a score of 209 was recorded.
Delhi lost a couple of early wickets too but unlike Mumbai, they never recovered from their losses. Dave Warner scored 61 and Juneja 49, but that wasn’t enough to get Delhi their first win.
Karthik was declared the man of the match for his superb knock.

Henriques first sent back Parthiv Patel (2) in the second over and then got rid of Cameron White (5) to give Bangalore hope.
Henriques got Patel caught by Arun Karthik with just four runs on board.
Opener Akshath Reddy (23) was the third man to be dismissed at the score of 48. Reddy was bowled out by spinner Muttiah Muralitharan after his 23-run knock.
Once again bowling with discipline, Sunrisers bowlers restricted the RCB to a modest total of 130 for 8 in 20 overs.
Electing to bat after winning the toss, RCB struggled to reach the score with the failure of top order barring captain Virat Kohli, who was top scorer with 46, which include five hits to the boundaries and one over the fence.
Moises Henriques, who came in place of Dan Christian, played a fine knock of 44 (5×4) to support the skipper and saved the team from a complete disaster.
Barring the two, no other batsman could reach double figures. Ishant Sharma claimed 3 for 27 while Amit Mishra once again impressed with figures of 4-0-15-1. Dale Steyn, Perera, Vihari and Ashish Reddy bagged a wicket each.
Sangakkara’s gamble to introduce Hanuman Vihari as the first change paid off with the off-spinner having Gayle (1) caught behind to his first delivery, which was quickish with slight extra bounce.
About 30,000 Sunday crowd, many of whom were expecting some fireworks by Gayle, was clearly disappointed.
Ishant Sharma gave another major breakthrough in his very first over and the fourth of the inning. Dilshan (5) was beaten to an in-swinger, uprooting the stumps. With both openers back into the pavilion at 22, the visitors were struggling.
Kohli then tried to rebuild the inning. Karun Nayar (9) also did not last long as Amit Sharma trapped him leg before to his first ball.
Kohli, who along with Henriques rescued the team, tried to free the arms in the 13th over by hoisting Ishant Sharma over long-off for the first six of the inning. Ishant conceded 12 runs in that over.
The captain’s fighting knock came to an end in the very next over to a superb return catch by Ashish Reddy in his follow-through. This ended the fourth wicket partnership (43 off 41), the highest of the inning.
